Dr Boris Monahov recently announced his retirement from ALABC after 9 years of service managing the Consortium’s technical program and supporting the wider global lead battery industry through his expert knowledge of lead battery science and technology.

To ensure the continuation of scientific and technical support for the Consortium’s ambitious new program in 2019, an expert panel will be created.  Boris will continue to support ALABC’s activities in a consulting role on this panel, in addition to managing the completion of remaining projects from the current program.  A project/marketing manager will also be recruited ASAP to support the implementation of the expanded program.

Although the plan will see Boris continuing to provide substantial support to ALABC’s future work, I would nonetheless like to take the opportunity to thank him on behalf of the ALABC membership, and the wider lead and lead battery industries, for his tremendous contribution to advancing the development of lead battery science during his time with ALABC, and indeed his lifetime’s work with the industry over the past 38 years.

- Dr. Andy Bush (MD, International Lead Association )
